Dot to Trot

My world is expanding as my butt is shrinking!

Tracking With Fitbook

Its Back! Yep, I'm switching back to the Fitbook as I look for another app to track my food and fitness.

I’m switching back to the Fitbook as I hunt for another app to track my food and fitness.

Fed up with My Fitness Pal’s “The App That I Will No Longer Name’s” data, I’m looking for another mobile tracker. But for now I’m going back to Fitbook. Yep, pen and paper for me.

While writing it down takes time, there is something nice about flipping back to my goals and notes. Yesterday I didn’t want to cook dinner. Thanks to the weather I spent the day cooped up in the house. The thought of going out to eat made sense to me. But before texting the hubby, I flipped open my Fitbook to my goals for the week. What did I see?

“No Eating Out!”

I smiled. It was my first of 3 goals for the week. Seeing that goal, in my handwriting, was the perfect jolt I needed. Determined to hold strong, I walked into the kitchen and started sautéing some chicken.

I know writing it down takes time, but if losing these last 24 pounds are important to me (and oh, they are), then why shouldn’t I.

Besides, when I used the “The App That I Will No Longer Name” I always had to research the correct nutrition information anyway. And don’t get me started on that app’s recipe builder. What a pain.

So I’m content with my Fitbook (their app isn’t ready for prime time) as a nice stop-gap while I search for an app that fits my needs.
